DirectX 8.0 ???

Hi. I'm using Macbook Core2Duo, running Stream on Windows XP (BootCamp)
I've been playing Counter Strike for 6 months...never known how to cheat, but in order to
play CS on Macbook i have to set Launch Option --> type "- dxlevel 8.0" which i think that it's to downgrade
the directX level ? Is it ok to do that ? i've no problem with CS since the begin but now i've got a warning from detox
like
Console variable "mat_dxlevel" contains an illegal value: "8"
> Must be greater than or equal to "70".

I didn't mean to cheat but i just downgrade my graphic ability to be able to play it
Any solution for this ?

Thanks for the reply, i did try -dxlevel 80 but it still can't run the program
There is an error
The instruction at "0x104d3e2c" referenced memory at "0x0e46a1a0"
The memory could not be "read"
Any idea about this ???
